Room Tone: You Need It (And How to Capture It Right)
Room tone is probably one of the most underrated moments on set. This one is for the sound folks.
Most would say the most important role on set. Location sound that survives post: gain staging, RF coordination, lav wiring that won’t rustle, boom technique, wind control, and quick EQ/denoise triage. Timecode, file naming, and notes clients can follow. Bag vs cart builds, power, and backup workflows—because clean dialog is worth getting the boom in shot.
